Master Whitfield is a 6th Degree Black Belt, Certified Chief Instructor, School Owner, and Certified International Examiner in the martial art of Choi Kwang Do. She began her training in this martial arts program in 1994, and then certified as an Assistant and later Chief Instructor under the Choi Kwang Do Martial Art International Organization.  She began instructing students in Grand Master Pereira's Lawrenceville & Lilburn Choi Kwang Do.  In 2002, she opened Suwanee Choi Kwang Do Martial Arts and in addition offers daytime on-sight martial arts instruction at 8 satellite facilities within Gwinnett and Fulton counties.

When Master Whitfield became affiliated with Choi Kwang Do, she was initially looking for a structured martial arts program for her twin sons, who were four years old at the time, to help them build self-confidence and improve their coordination skills.   She was able to see first hand as a parent the numerous physical and mental benefits that her sons gained from their training in this wonderful program and revolutionary martial art!

Throughout her training, Master Whitfield has always felt strongly about giving back to others what she has received from the fundamental teachings of Grand Master Kwang Jo Choi and under the guidance of her instructor, Grand Master Pereira.  She always strives to be positive and to teach with enthusiasm in order to motivate and encourage her students to always do their best and never give up, which is the fundamental concept behind Choi Kwang Do.  She enjoys helping others to achieve their personal goals and strives to live by the Principles of Choi Kwang Do!

Master Whitfield performed for 7 years as a member of Master Busker's Georgia Area Demo Team at HQ.  She was also a member of the Lilburn Demo Team and performed on the special "Over 40 and Still Kickin' It" Demo Team for the 15-year anniversary seminar of Choi Kwang Do Martial Art International.   Master Whitfield earned the promotion of 5th Dan in October 2010 in conjunction with the 1st ever international seminar in Seoul, South Korea.
